The MUSIC EXPRESS of Mountain View, formerly known as Ragdolls, is starting their new season with new music and a new look. The event takes place every Thursday, beginning April 3, from 6-8 pm. The new lineup includes Tommy Winn on guitar, Barbara Strictland on vocals and keys, Mandi Gross on drums and vocals, and Lin Winn on bass and vocals. Special guest Janet Cox will perform, and Gene will be the sound man. Laura Smith will be the welcoming hostess. CJ Goodwin, who has been dealing with health issues, will appear when she chooses.

Community dances happen regularly on the first/third Thursday of each month through October. Dance music is performed by a talented group of local Ozarks musicians on the first Thursday of each month.
If you'd like to learn to square dance and join in the fun, let one of our dance callers know and they will work you into a square dance with other experienced dancers. Note: Square dances involve a few different patterns and hand-turns that dancers need to know. Dances commonly include participants of all ages but we don't recommend it for children under 8 years-old.

Ozark Homesteading Workshop
The Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village and Heritage Herb Garden will host Ozark Homesteading workshops on Friday & Saturday, June 27 & 28, 2025.
Workshops include Composting for a Healthy Garden; Using Goats, Sheep & Chickens to Reclaim Land; Make Your Own Sauerkraut; Donkey Power in the Ozarks; Herbal Bug Repellents; History, Herbs, & Healing; and more. Farmers from the Stone County Farmer's Market will be on hand sharing tips and techniques. There is no preregistration required and regular Craft Village admission fee covers all workshops. The Village is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music on the Blacksmith Stage throughout the day.

“We preserve the folkways and traditions of the Ozarks here,” said Jeanette Larson, Craft Director at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. “Growing, preserving, and eating good food are all part of our lifestyle. We love to share our knowledge and joy in bringing quality meals to the table.”
Our Ozark Homesteading workshops focus carries over into our eateries in the park. Try the Skillet Restaurant, where they offer locally grown local produce in season and use herbs grown in the Kitchen Garden right in front of the restaurant. The Skillet is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday & Saturday.
Food, music, gardens, talks, tours and so much more make up the Ozark Folk Center State Park.
Season passes are honored for admission to this event.

Driven is a dynamic young band who love Jesus and playing gospel, bluegrass and old country music.

Luke Porter, 16, microsprint race car driver on vocals & guitar;
Nash Boldman, 18, large bird rehabilitator on banjo;
Bryar Boldman, 16, avid athlete & artist on bass & vocals and
Angus "Droopy" Boldman, 13, wildlife rehabilitator & overall funny man on dobro.
Performing separately for many years and together for a few months, they love adventure, reviving old tunes and just hanging out. You will surely enjoy watching these young people Drive Bluegrass.

Handcrafted Evening in the Park - Folk Center
Join us Friday, July 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a Handcrafted Evening in the Ozark Folk Center Craft Village in scenic Mountain View, Arkansas. Admission to the Craft Village is free for this evening event. There is plenty of parking in the lower lot and our free shuttle will carry you to the Village on the top of the hill.
Many of the shops will be open. The Village crafters will be creating items, demonstrating their wood carving; spinning and weaving; jewelry making; soap making; printing; copper flame painting; and more. Spend the evening talking with our resident working crafters about how they learned their skills and where they find their inspiration. Learn about their tools and their workshops. Buy unique handcrafted items such as pottery, candles, stained glass, and weavings directly from the folks who are making them. If you'd like to learn how to do a craft, visit with the artisans about the classes they offer, or talk with apprentices about our apprenticeships.

The Ozark Folk Center State Park is located at 1032 Park Avenue in Mountain View, less than a mile from the Courthouse Square. The park may also be reached by taking Hwy 5/9/14 (Sylamore Ave) to Jimmy Driftwood Parkway, which leads directly to the park entrance.
The Craft Village at the Ozark Folk Center State Park is regularly open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. Regular admission to the Ozark Folk Center Craft Village is $15.00 for adults or $8.00 for children 6-12, children under 6 are free. Call 870-269-3851 for more information

Community Square Dance
Stop by the Ozark Folk Center's 1,000-seat indoor music venue, Ozark Highlands Theater, and enjoy this timeless Ozarks tradition from 7-9 p.m., weather permitting.
Admission is free and on-lookers welcome!
Community dances happen regularly on the first/third Thursday of each month through October. Dance music is performed by a talented group of local Ozarks musicians on the first Thursday of each month.
If you'd like to learn to square dance and join in the fun, let one of our dance callers know and they will work you into a square dance with other experienced dancers. Note: Square dances involve a few different patterns and hand-turns that dancers need to know. Dances commonly include participants of all ages but we don't recommend it for children under 8 years-old.
2025 dance dates:
March 27, April 3, 10, and 24, May 1 and 15, June 5 and 19, July 3 and 17, August 7 and 21, September 4 and 18, and October 2 and 16.

Mountain View Open Disc Golf Tournament
Get ready for the 5th annual Mountain View Open Disc Golf Tournament, hosted at one of Arkansas’ top-rated courses—Bluegrass Trails in scenic Mountain View! This exciting PDGA-sanctioned event features two rounds of shotgun start play, with divisions for all skill levels. MPO, MP40, and MA1 players will tackle a round from the Blue tees and one from the Reds, while all other Pro and Amateur divisions will play the Blue and Yellow layouts.
Amateurs enjoy great value with a $30 build-your-own player pack voucher and no payout structure, focusing on fun and flexibility. Pros compete for cash, with 40% of the field paid out. Crazy Quilters Quilt Show
We are so excited to have the Mountain View Crazy Quilters return to the Arkansas Craft School during the Mountain View Iris Festival May 2-3, 2025! Last year's show was well attended by our visitors, and there were many comments about the art of this quilting group. Be sure to visit this venue to see vibrant colors, lovely stitches, and chat with our quilter friends here in Mountain View.
