Celebrating 63 Years of Tradition at the Arkansas Folk Festival in Mountain View
This past weekend, Mountain View, Arkansas, came alive with music, laughter, and time-honored traditions as we celebrated the 63rd annual Arkansas Folk Festival. Held every year on the third weekend of April, the festival is a beloved tradition that brings our community together and welcomes visitors from all over.
The festivities kicked off with a colorful parade through the heart of downtown, featuring floats, classic cars, a marching band, and plenty of hometown pride. It set the tone for a weekend full of celebration.
From there, the square was buzzing with activity. Goat milking demonstrations and butter making gave guests a hands-on glimpse into old-fashioned homesteading. Kids got to build and create at the Home Depot woodworking station, while families of all ages enjoyed rounds of Chicken Bingo—a quirky favorite that never gets old.
The tractor show was another crowd-pleaser, showcasing beautifully restored vintage tractors that lined the streets. This year also marked the exciting debut of our BBQ Cookoff – “Smokin’ on the Square”, where the smell of slow-cooked ribs and brisket drew folks in from all corners of town.
Music, as always, was the heartbeat of the festival. The courthouse stage featured performances all weekend, while smaller jam sessions brought life to every corner of Mountain View – a tradition rooted in the soul of our town.
Guests also strolled through the vendors and artisans market, browsing handcrafted goods, local art, and homemade treats – the perfect way to take a little piece of the festival home.
Whether you came for the music, the food, the parade, or the memories, we’re so glad you joined us. And if you missed it this year? Don’t worry – we’ll be back next April!
Make plans now to join us for the 64th Arkansas Folk Festival – happening the third weekend of April in Mountain View, where folk culture comes alive.
